Our INTENTION

Picture
To facilitate, through art, a global collaboration among adolescent girls and the organizations that work to support them, ultimately leading to strengthened communities on a local and global level.

To inspire, empower, and connect the next generation of change-makers.

OVERVIEW

Picture
Mighty Fingers-Facing Change is a 2-part experiential art project designed to engage and inspire adolescent girls worldwide. My name is Kelly Sullivan and I have been creating collaborative art for almost 20 years. Through this career opus project girls will celebrate their individuality through a guided self-portrait exercise, and demonstrate the power of collaboration as we work together to design and execute the first ever global FingerSmear canvas entitled "Abundance." We will bring a unifying spotlight to the numerous organizations that work to improve the lives of women and girls around the world, ultimately leading to strengthened communities on a local and global level.

Videogrpaher Toni Tru documents the participation of girls from varying cultures as they contribute to the design and creation of this global canvas, signifying their connectedness and their ability to ‘paint a better future,’ as well as the self-portrait exercises that celebrate their personal beauty. Mighty Fingers - Facing Change focuses on power, affirmations, inspiration, and celebration. This website, our Facebook page, and email blasts allow anyone to follow the progress of Mighty Fingers - Facing Change. It also helps to keep the girls connected into the future, inspiring action exponentially.

It is my hope that participating girls, and supporters of this project, whether on site or online, will come through this experience knowing a bit more about themselves, empowered by what they've discovered, and possessing a heightened sense of awareness and compassion for the world around them. I hope you will be moved by the power of will, and the might that is at your fingertips.

"I had a chance to stop by the Mighty Fingers Facing Change event yesterday
and was very impressed.  The young women involved were inspired by the
chance to paint and combining artistic expression with self-reflection
exercises was incredibly meaningful.  The experience was one that the young
women will remember and draw from down the road. A heartfelt thanks to Kelly, Beth, and your whole team.  You are fantastic!"
